We at John's Bedroom Barn feel that giving back to the community is very important.

Great Nanaimo Toy Drive and Pennies for Presents Campaign!

Here's a pic of John Day of Johns' Bedroom Barn holding a $500 cash donation for the Toy Drive. The money has been collected through the store on Bowen Road this year. This is above all the pennies & change also collected.

 Also displayed under the tree are toys that were collected by the MidIsland ATV Club members. Thanks to all for your generosity.

Shown is Arlene Blundel who stopped by to pickup a cash donation of $600 for this years Great Nanaimo Toy Drive from John Day. The money is raised all year long from various instore donations and is above what we raise for the Pennies for Presents campaign each year.

The money has been collected through instore donations and residents dropping off the saved pennies. Thanks to all for supporting this cause again this year.

Cowgirls Don’t, a fundraiser for the Comox Valley Boys & Girls Club held in September, netted a whopping $11,000.  Cowgirls (some 260 of them) in every conceivable costume from wrangler to gaucho was on hand to belly up to the bar, enjoy a chuck-wagon chow down and dance the night away to tunes by Amanda and the Country Boyz.  Thanks to the generosity of the Comox Valley community, the evening included a silent auction and lots of photo opp’s in front of the covered wagon donated by Johns’ Bedroom Barn and Foam Warehouse. 

Silly Boat Regatta!

For the third year in a row, Johns’ Bedroom Barnacles participated in the Silly Boat Regatta! We did a raffle with help from our suppliers donating items and collecting pledges to raise money for the Child Development Centre.

All of us at Johns’ Bedroom Barn and Foam Warehouse would like to thank you for your generous donations to the Silly Boat Regatta. All proceeds go directly to the Nanaimo Child Development Centre to hire more staff, which in turn benefits the children.

This year, with the exception of the teams that sank and never made it back to shore, we came in last. Man that 7:35 min paddle did feel like 15 mins! Dennis always said one year the wind would catch our canopy and use it like a sail. Too bad we sailed in the wrong direction! In total our store and staff were able to fundraise over $1200.00! Without your help that would not have been possible. Thank you once again for your donation, and we hope to see you soon.
